Als relevant für die psychoanalytische Theorie der Sucht werden, mit besonderem Blick auf eine psychoanalytische Theorie des Alkoholismus, das trieb-psychologische, das ich-psychologische und das objektpsychologische Paradigma herausgearbeitet. Für die psychoanalytische Diagnose und Therapie des Alkoholismus wäre eine Kombination dieser drei Konzepte notwendig.

Psychoanalytic model concepts for the theory of alcoholism
Psychological paradigms of drive, ego, and object-relations are elaborated with a view to their relevance for a theory of addiction, especially a psychoanalytic theory of alcoholism. A combination of these three conceptions is necessary for the psychoanalytic diagnosis and treatment of alcoholism.

Die Praxis der großen und kleinen Regeln der Psychoanalyse wurzelt im Selbstverständnis der Psychoanalyse. Dieses Selbstverständnis kann nur in philosophischer Reflexion gründen, diese wiederum im jeweiligen Verständnis des Selbst des einzelnen. Der Autor stellt fest, daß in der psychoanalytischen Ausbildung diese letztlich kulturtheoretischen Grundfragen vernachlässigt werden.

The rules of psychoanalysis and the regulative self
The practice of the chief as well as lesser rules of psychoanalysis derives from the self-conception of psychoanalysis. This self-conception can only be grounded in philosophical reflection. The latter, in turn, rests upon the understanding of individual selves. The author notes that these issues, which are ultimately culture-theoretical, are neglected in psychoanalytic training.

Der Autor ergänzt die tachistoskopischen Experimente Pötzls durch eine tachyakustische Variante. Wesentliche Annahmen der Freudschen Traumtheorie werden noch einmal experimentell bestätigt, auf spezifische Charakteristika im Verhältnis von Primär- wie Sekundärprozeß wird aufmerksam gemacht.

An acoustic method for the experimental instigation of dreams
The author supplements Poetzl's tachistoscopic experiments with a tachyacoustic variant. Essential assumptions of Freud's theory of dreams are once again experimentally confirmed. Attention is drawn to specific characteristics of primary and secondary processes.
